I started Hello Gifts just two years ago after spotting a gap in the market for beautifully curated gift boxes that don’t cost a fortune — boxes filled with thoughtful, fun and joyful treats that make people smile.
It was a big leap of faith and a complete career change. Before this, I was a teacher with an MA in English and Creative Writing (one day, I’ll finish that novel!). But I knew I wanted to build something that combined creativity, connection and kindness and Hello Gifts was born.
Like so many small business stories, it hasn’t been a straightforward path. I’ve battled serious illness and sepsis, which left me with partial sight loss. But if that journey taught me anything, it’s that life is too short not to spread a little joy. Every parcel we send is a small reminder of that, a moment of happiness in a lemon yellow box.
Since launching, Hello Gifts UK has grown from a kitchen-table idea to an award-winning online gift store, with hundreds of thoughtful boxes sent across the UK every month. From Christmas, birthdays, thank-yous, pyjamas and accessories to self-care treats and corporate orders, each box is packed by hand and sent with love.
I live by the sea, stopped drinking alcohol this year and I’m training for my second Hyrox, a reminder that strength comes in many forms. And through it all, Hello Gifts continues to be my proudest adventure: proof that it’s never too late to start over, believe in yourself and bring something joyful into the world.
Thank you for being here, for following, shopping, sharing and supporting this small business. It means more than you’ll ever know. 💛
